It looks like we will see this year a substantial burst of attention to the annual "Green Book for Negro Motorists" used by African American motorists/travelers from the late 30s until the 1960s.

The New York public library has digitized many of the annual Green Books and they can be found HERE.
I posted below a picture with the places within Portland from the 1948 edition ( 70 years ago); it would be fascinating to see if any of these 10 places still exist).
