HUD attempts to rein in non profit down payment "gift" providers were set back when a federal district court in DC granted a temporary injunction against HUD enforcement of new administrative rules limiting those programs.
(As HUD had already granted a time extension for two of the largest non profits, the practical impact of the temporary injunction may have limited impact,IF an eventual and timely court decision on the merits rules in HUD's favor).
The Washington Post story HERE provides a summary of the issue and court ruling.
D.C. District Court opinions can be found HERE, however as of 7:30 A.M. this morning the decision in question, from Judge Paul L. Friedman, does not yet appear on this site (but seems likely to be available at a later time/date).
