NY Times story HERE reports that 260 residents at Valencia Gardens , a HOPE VI public housing project in San Francisco have gained access to 100MB Internet connections. [Cable bandwidth is generally in the 6MB or below range].
Story says up to 2,500 public housing residents throughout the city are expected to gain similar access in the future.
SF Housing Authority HOPE VI Information about Valencia Gardens is HERE.
One of partners in bringing this service to residents is one of my favorite organizations and websites, the highly recommended Internet Archive.
