As part of the recovery legislation, federal agencies have been directed to establish sections of their websites related to improving transparency of agency spending of Recovery dollars.
HUD's website has tipped up this morning HERE: (www.hud.gov/recovery). HIGHLY recommended read.
Rather amazingly to me, the website ALREADY includes state projections of HUD recovery funding, except for Neighborhood Stabilization. Note also that some programs (like Capital funds for public housing) include both a formula allocation AND a grant program, so all HUD recovery dollars have not been committed (and won't be until competitive grant announcments and actions are completed).
HUD Recovery website shows total projections for Oregon at $85. 3 Million, my prior projections for same programs were 12% higher. The good news is that my projections were high for project based renewals [all Oregon projects must have 12 months of funding already], and public housing capital funding [the latter has a competitive grant aspect, so Oregon is likely to get some additional money down the road].
When those items are subtracted from my prior projections, my projections turn out to be 11% BELOW HUD's, as HOME/LIHTC dollars are close to $5 million higher than what I projected, and NAHSDA funding is also higher than I expected.
Side by side comparison of my projections and HUD recovery website $$ for Oregon is HERE.
