Freddie Mac Loses $260 Million a Day in 4th Quarter, $50.1 Billion in 2008.
Freddie's 4th quarter loss of $23.9 Billion ($260 Million a DAY) is only slightly less than Fannie Mae's ($25.2 Billion ($274 Million a day). That's a combined loss of more than 1/2 BILLION ($533 Million) a DAY in the last quarter.
Freddie's 2008 annual loss of $50.1 Billion compares to Fannie's annual loss of $58.7 Billion. So in 2008, these companies lost a combined total of $298 million every DAY. Washington Post story on Freddie losses in 4th quarter is HERE.
On Independence Day in 2007 I retired after 34 years of federal service at HUD, the last 10 as the Field Office Director in Portland Oregon. My primary blog is the Oregon Housing Blog.
