HAP Gets 440+ Volunteers to Serve on Resident Advisory Committee.

The Housing Authority of Portland's latest Board package for their meeting on the high holy day (March 17th) contains an interesting piece of news. (A consolidated file with all current year HAP Board packages is permanently found in pane to the right, look for "HAP YTD Board Packages").

On page 19, Director Steve Rudman notes that HAP received a record 440 volunteers to serve on the Resident Advisory Board. More details about applicants can be found starting on page 30. In looking at quotes from applicants starting on that page, I note that applicants range in age from 19 to 81!

HAP's Board and staff should pat themselves on the back for creating a climate where such a high level of resident civic engagement is evident.
