Updated: Oregon Leads All States in Submitting Recommendations to Improve HUD Multifamily Processing.

Update: I inadvertently forget to provide credit to individual key actors who made the HUD comments possible. I have added their names and titles in the second paragraph below
-----------

Cooperation among Oregon's multifamily participants lead to a host of comments responding to a HUD Federal Register request (HERE) for recommendations to improve HUD Multifamily processing, including tax credits, bonds, elderly and disabled housing, and housing preservation.

Discussions lead by the Oregon Acquisition Project resulted in at least 9 comments from Oregon participants including comments from consultants, a management company, OHCS, the Portland Housing Bureau ["previously known" as BHCD/PDC], a non profit, and a blogger:). Special thanks to a Margaret Jonsson, a Housing Project Coordinator with the Portland Housing Bureau, Carolyn O'Doherty, a Project Manager with the Network for Affordable Housing, and Rob Prasch the Preservation Director from the OAP.

These substantive Oregon comments represent more that third of all comments received and were by far the most comments received from any one state.

I have assembled ALL
of the comments (national and Oregon) made in response to the HUD request and posted them in a single PDF file HERE. Comments are separated into two groups, those that were in the form of PDF or Word attachments, and those that were made as text comments. Oregon comments are bold faced in blue in the navigation pane in the left of the PDF file.
