RealtyTrac July Oregon Data: Trustee Sales Notices Went Up, REO Continues to Increase; Default Notices Are Down.

At best Oregon RealtyTrac data for July is a mixed bag.
  • Default notices are down 98% from a year ago, 19% from last month.
  • REO is up 465% from a year ago, 17% from last month
  • Trustee sale notices, after declining for several months, went up by 16% from June and are up 446% from last July.
I prepared HERE a 2 page PDF that includes a table with the Oregon data comparisons by foreclosure phase, links to RealtyTrac press releases, and a graph showing Oregon monthly data by phase for each month in CY 2009.

Questions: Does ANYONE know why Trustee Sale Notices have virtually disappeared from the Oregonian public notice section. A couple of months ago it was routine to see 3+ notices a DAY, now there are VERY few days when ANY notices appear.
  1. Did something happen to ELIMINATE the need to post those in the Oregonian?
  2. Are lenders sidestepping or delaying this step in the foreclosure process?
