HUD Issues Guidance for Option for Tenants to Add Service/Support Contacts to Their Rental Applications.

A new HUD Notice contains guidance to implement legislative provisions that require providing an option to HUD tenants to include additional contact information for individuals and organizations that may help in providing services to the tenant.

The joint Housing and Public Housing Notice 2009-36 is HERE, so this guidance applies to both HUD multifamily rental assistance programs AND public housing agencies.

PHA's and housing administrative agencies will have 90 days from Sept 15 Notice issuance date to implement the policy, including the use of a new HUD "Supplement to Application for Federally Assisted housing", HUD Form 92006.
