Oregon Building Permits YTD Are Up 6% Overall, With 32% SF Increase but Down 52% for MF Permits.

I constructed the one page PDF HERE showing YTD data through May, for last 5 years, 2006-2010.  

Observations:

• Monthly data shows that there were only 507 statewide building permits issued in May, a decline of 82% from 2,858 in same month 5 years ago and 24% from 665 permits for same month a year ago.
• With Recovery Act funding I would be somewhat surprised if MF permits did not pick up during the coming months.

I prepared comparisons using data compiled from highly recommended HUD building permit website that allows user to drill down to state, county or city level ("permitting jurisdictions"), and also narrow search by time and different building types; check it out HERE.
