OHSI has opened their program eligibility test self assessment tool HERE, and it contains one surprise. Question 10 says that townhouses and condos do NOT qualify for the program as they are NOT single family 1 unit detached homes; the question requiring an affirmative answer reads :
Do you live in a single-family, 1-unit, detached home? *Note: Condominiums and Townhomes are NOT considered single-family, 1-unit, detached homes.
State Hardest Hit Guidance in Other States Currently ALLOWS Condos to Qualify:
This is possibly a recent Treasury interpretation, as I have checked websites for other states and they clearly indicate that Condos DO qualify. (See Rhode Island Q and A HERE for example). Disqualification of condos and townhomes will likely hit homeowners in the City of Portland the most.
