City of Portland Legislative Priorities: Kinda Doubt Two Housing Earmark Requests will Get Fed Funding.

To their credit, the City of Portland has posted their federal legislative priorities HERE.   However, if earmarks are as endangered as they appear to be, it is hard to see how City will get $500,000 for the Gateway Education Center OR $2 Million for a Sustainability Center in earmarks from the HUD Economic Development Initiative program.

A stretch but more plausible are residual receipts and Section 8 funding admin changes that start on page 11 of the priorities document. Other housing priorities for the Hillsdale HOPE VI application, First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit, and Homeless funding finish out the housing priorities with an uncertain likelihood for funding.

NOTE: I first picked up on this story via a tweet from Mayor Adams; I am now up to following 75 sources in my twitter feed.
