HUD Increased Seattle FMR's by 20% In January; 2 BR's FMR's In Seattle Now Nearly $500 More Per Month Than Portland.

Hat tip to Nixon Peabody note of Seattle HUD Fair Market Rent increase HERE. The January 2015 increase apparently resulted from a submission made by Seattle area PHA's.

I did a before and after comparison and a comparison with Portland metro FMR's in image of table pasted below. Some Observations:
  1. Seattle metro got across the board 20% increases from previously HUD published FY 2015 FMR's.
  2. Portland's metro 2 BR FMR previously was 22% below Seattle, now it is 35%.
  3. Portland's metro FY 2015 2 BR of $922 is nearly $500 a month ($493) less than Seattle's $1,415--it previously was only $258 a month less.
