New Data Shows That Federal Emergency Rental Assistance 1 Spending in Multnomah County Tops $55 Million.

This morning I looked at the OHCS Emergency Rental Assistance Dashboard AND a newly discovered City of Portland ERA dashboard. (That dashboard includes Multnomah County ERA 1 funding also as well as other rental assistance funding streams).

Adding the two together shows that Portland and Multnomah County have spent at least $55 million in ERA 1 funds as of reports this morning, with more than 22,000 households receiving funding averaging $2,444 per household.

OHCS ERA 1 funding accounts for 87% of households and 77% of the dollars spent to date.

As a frame of reference Home Forward reports for July show a total of 11,000 housing vouchers in use, so ERA 1 in a few months has already helped twice as many households as are being served this year by the  voucher program in Multnomah county. BTW: Home Forward leased 672 new vouchers of that total of 11,0000 to July this year.

Note "spending" for this report does NOT include obligations, and likely also does not include admin costs which at 10% of their allocation could total another $2.4 million at the local level and another $5M plus for OHCS for Multnomah County .
