Committee Vote Scheduled This Week on FHA Stabilization Bill, H.R. 5830.

A vote on the FHA Stabilization Bill, H.R. 5830, has been scheduled in the House Financial Services Committee for Wednesday April 23rd and Thursday April 24th.

Information about the bill can be found at Thomas HERE
A summary can be found on the House Financial Services website HERE.

I do not know whether, how, and when this bill will be combined with the many other housing bills now under consideration in both the House and Senate.

  1. Why does it take so long to get FHA MODERNIZATION Act of 2008 through Congress. In 2007 it was HR1852,then Senate version S2338, Both with huge support. Then Chris Dodd attaches it as a substitute to S3221 "Energy Bill" Under Foreclosure Prevention Act. Again it is approved under the bill. Now the House is considering new FHA bills instead of passing this one. Barney Frank and Maxine Waters bills have very little hope of getting through as proposed. I hope they are not using the FHA Modernization Act hostage in order to get HR5818, HR5829 and HR5830 passed.
