AP news story HERE says President will today nominate current SBA head, Steve Preston, to be the HUD Secretary. (My guess is that the earliest he could be confirmed would be June, which would result in total service of 7-8 months as HUD Secretary).
The profile HERE of Preston is from the SBA website. Other than work on disaster assistance at SBA his resume does not appear to include any significant housing experience.
