TARP Inspector General Quarterly Report Provides Good Summary of Homeowner Support Programs.

The April quarterly report by the TARP Special Inspector General was recently issued HERE.

On pages 51-75 there is a thorough review of the progress of Homeowner Support Programs in TARP, including some examples of how different programs work. This is one of the best compilations of the descriptions of the different TARP funded housing programs and there potential impacts on individual buyers I have found. (Starting at page 64, for example, there is a review of options for borrowers with underwater mortgages).

(Inexplicably the IG has password secured the report so it is not possible to extract just these pages electronically from this 241 page report, but you can obviously just print and read in hard copy).
