HUD Oregon 2015 Micro PUMS Housing Voucher Sample Data.

I posted a couple of tweets HERE and HERE on Tuesday with Oregon data I had extracted from 2015 HUD sample micro PUMS data. 

For this post I am providing the source housing voucher sample data for Oregon in Excel HERE; it includes a pivot table that shows sample voucher rent burden data by race and ethnicity for Oregon. (Excel is embedded below also). Other data fields will allow extraction of data based on household type, adjusted income, bedroom size, etc).

The last worksheet provides data linkages, field names, and codes used for the household type field. 

Biggest take aways for me were:

• In Oregon housing voucher recipient rent burdens in 2015 were substantially higher than in other HUD rental assistance programs. Vouchers are a larger share of all HUD assisted renters than in other states, so this especially significant for Oregon.
• In Oregon, within the voucher program there appears to be a substantial difference in voucher recipient rent burdens by race and ethnicity.
