State Breakout March 2015 - March 2016: HUD Vouchers in Use Are Up Nationwide by 108,000/ 5%; Oregon Up 3,495/ 11%.

The 6 page PDF file I constructed HERE has statewide and US comparisons of vouchers in use in March of 2015 and March of 2016, including a breakout of VASH vouchers. ( Pic below highlights Oregon and US changes).

Observations

  • Nationwide total vouchers in use, including those on the street for lease up, increased by 107,955 vouchers/ 5 %; 
  • Oregon's total vouchers in use, including those on the street for lease up, increased by 3,495 and at a higher rate of 11%.
  • Nationwide the total vouchers in use, including those on the street for lease up, as of March 2016 was 2,291,888 and the number of VASH vouchers in use was 65,679;
  • In Oregon those counts were 35,533 total vouchers, and 1,449 VASH vouchers. 


  • Nationwide VASH voucher use increased by 13,886 vouchers/ 27% ; 
  • Oregon VASH voucher use increased by 446 vouchers and at a higher rate of 44%.


  • Subtracting out VASH vouchers, other vouchers in use increased by 94,069 vouchers/4% ; 
  • Oregon other voucher use after subtracting VASH vouchers increased by  3,049 vouchers and a higher rate of 10%.
