Led by Home Forward/Multnomah County Statewide Emergency Voucher Leases Up 177/21% in One Month; 1,342 Emergency and VASH Vouchers Still Available for Lease.

In my prior post I provided details on the July lease up of HUD emergency vouchers and VASH vouchers intended for the chronic homeless populations,

The new table pasted below shows the July-August changes for the state, for the 3 Portland metro PHA's, and for the rest of the state.

The new 3 page PDF HERE has detailed tables showing the July to August change, the August counts, and the July counts for ALL Oregon PHA's.

Multnomah County and Statewide

I'm pleased to see progress in reported Emergency Rental voucher lease ups.

As of August there were 220 Emergency Rental vouchers reported by Home Forward as under lease in Multnomah county vs 106 in July .

So, Home Forward/Multnomah county Emergency Rental voucher lease ups increased by 114/108%. Statewide the increase was 177/21% .

Even with the progress made there were still 256 reported Emergency Rental vouchers not yet leased in Multnomah county and 568 statewide.

VASH

Reported VASH voucher lease up increased by only 9 vouchers from July to August statewide and there was no increase in Multnomah county. There were still 323 reported VASH vouchers not yet leased in Multnomah county and 774 statewide.

COMBINED

So combined there were 942 Emergency Rental Vouchers + VASH vouchers under lease in Multnomah county and 3,011 statewide, leaving 579 unleased in Multnomah county and 1,342 statewide.

The 3 county Portland metro area

Combined there was a total of 1,305 Emergency Rental + VASH vouchers under lease in August. Emergency Rental Vouchers under lease increased by 114/ 51% and VASH vouchers increased by 4 for a combined increase of 118 homeless vouchers under lease. (Note that Home Forward accounted for 114 of the 118 total under lease increase).

269 Emergency Rental Vouchers +470 VASH vouchers remained unleased, for a combined unleased total of 739 vouchers.

Note: All data are my calculations from HUD dashboards for Emergency Rental Vouchers and Vouchers
