FHA Mortgage Limits Increase in Oregon: Portland $418,750, Bend $447,500, Medford $422, 500

My earlier post HERE predicted a new temporary FHA mortgage limit in excess of $400,000 for the Portland metro area. Today FHA published new temporary FHA mortgage limits for some areas, as authorized by the recently enact economic stimulus legislation. For the multi-county Portland metro area the new FHA limit is $418,750, a bit more than I anticipated.

Note however that the Portland Metro has not had previously, and continues to have LESS than the highest FHA limit in the state. That honor goes to the the Bend MSA which has a new temporary FHA loan limit of $447,500. The Medford MSA's new temporary FHA loan limit is also higher than Portland's at $422,500.

To see if the FHA mortgage limit has increased for other areas in Oregon (or anywhere else in the country) go HERE to this HUD web page and use the pull down menus to find the state and county of interest.
