Case Schiller Metro Comparisons: Portland Ranks 8th Out of 20 Metro Areas When Comparing Change from August 2012 and Its Peak Month.

It's been a while since I did any in depth Case Schiller index analysis, so let's call this my election analysis since it will include comparisons to start of Obama administration.

Excel file HERE and embedded below shows: 
  1. Portland CS home price index has declined 11.3% from January 2009, and 25.5% from its peak month of April 2007.
  2. Portland Ranks 15th Best (Out of 20 Metro Areas) In August 2012-January 2009 Change Comparison.
  3. But Portland Rank Improves to #8 When Ranked by Change from August 2012 to Its Peak Month.
  4. Among Western Metro Areas, Only Dallas (#1) and Denver (#2) Have Better Rankings When Comparing August 2012 to Peak Month (for That Metro Area).
