S&P/Case-Shiller Oct.Home Price Index for Portland Metro DOWN Slightly For Third Month in a Row.

S&P/Case-Shiller October 2007 metro home price data was released Wednesday morning. My calculations:

• YEAR TO YEAR (Oct 06-Oct 07): The Portland metro index increased from 181.62 to 185.1, a 1.9% increase.
• MONTH to MONTH(Sept 07-Oct 07): The Portland metro index dropped from 185.67 to 185.1, a .31% decrease.(This marks the third month in a row the index has declined--the peak index month was July 07 at 186.51; the decline since then has been .76%, very modest compared to national trends).
