OHCS Rental Developments 2019-2024: LIHTC Used for 83% of All Units Developed.

 In prior posts I have highlighted total OHCS housing production and OHCS housing production in the three Portland metro counties and the City of Portland. 

The post today drills down in the statewide data to show the count of LIHTC units in the OHCS inventory/ database for placed in service years 2019-2024 and it also includes subtotals for 4% and  9% LIHTC. 

In these years 

• LIHTC was used to help OHCS construct, acquire, or preserve 166 projects/15,688 units with $4.5 billion in total development costs. (This year alone LIHTC is projected to help OHCS place 50 projects/4,620 units in service with a total development cost of $1.1 billion).
• There were 114 projects that used 4% credits and 52 that used 9% credits. 
• 81% of LIHTC units developed used 4% credits (12,664 /15,688) and there were 3,024 units in the LIHTC 9% projects. 
• 166 projects with LIHTC are 83% of all OHCS funded units (15,688/18,825) and have 89% of total development costs.
